We made it in one piece. A few things weren't so lucky, but they are easily fixed.
When we got here there was a plant arrangement waiting for us from our homeschool group. Is that not the nicest thing ever? I can't wait to meet them.
Speaking of which, Susan, I can;t get to your phone number. It is on the other computer, and the cords for said computer are in a box "somewhere." Please email me again, but use @yahoo instead of @charter. Yes, I am a schmuck.
We ended up stopping for the night in Nashville. Marty's company's headquarters is in Nashville, and we happened to be walking distance to one of the restaurants, so we headed there for dinner. The food was phenomenal (the best I have ever had at this place)but the service was lacking. They ended up bringing the wrong side dish to Marty, and the food runner (a 6'5" huge linebacker type guy) said in his best quivering voice "Are you from corporate?" That is when we realized that of all the hats Marty could have grabbed, he grabbed one with the company's logo. It was pretty funny at the time.
Anyway, things are starting to take shape. The furniture is where we think we want it, the kitchen is half way unpacked and the washer and dryer are hooked up. What more could we ask for?
A comfortable couch, perhaps? I am on the lookout for a new (to us) couch. This monstrosity of a couch is the most uncomfortable thing ever. I could buy bigger foam for the cushions, but I figured that by the time I bought the cushions and fabric and then had someone make the covers - I could have bought another couch. I am going to check the thrift stores in town (if there are any? I haven't seen any) and check Freecycle. I just have a hard time paying for a new couch while I still have teenage boys in the house. Call me cheap... it wouldn't be the first time.
I will keep you posted on the big couch search of '08.
